Office Experience - Seeking Employment/ Sponsorship

hi there!

My name is Melissa. I’m a 26 y/o working professional from the US. I have a wide variety of experience in hospitality as well as office experience.


Preferably, I’d like to work and be sponsored for an office position. I have experience in Admin/Coordinator roles as well as Data Entry. 

What are my odds of finding sponsorship in AUS from the US?

Hi Melissa and welcome. 🖐️ 

To be honest, I think you might struggle.  😔  Sponsored Jobs tend to be made available to occupations where employers are struggling to identify suitable candidates within Australia.  The types of roles you are eluding too would probably be easily filled using local resources. 

A couple of links for you to review.

Firstly, the current Australian occupations lists:

These lists define the current occupations currently considered 'in Demand' here in Australia. Do you see anything on there that you may be able to align your experience with?

Secondly - The Australian Working Holiday Visa:

This may be an option for you and you will be more likely to secure work more aligned with your experience.

On the downside, you will be only able to work for an employer for 6 months at a time. On the upside, while in Australia you'll be better placed to build relationships with local employers which may increase your chances of securing a longer-term visa.
