Hey, my partner is trying to find sponsorship. He’s a qualified electrical engineering technician from the UK. He mostly works on wiring and installing switchboards and control panels. He has 8 years UK experience and just short 1year experience in Australia. We’re based in NSW. Thanks, Beth :)

Hi Beth and welcome 😊. Are you guys already here on a 457/482 visa?

Being in Australia will help but just seeking clarity on that point.

Also, would you be open to opportunities in other states as the mining industry in the west appears to be picking up pace again.

Cheers

Mark

Hello Mark,

We're already here but on 417 visas nearing the end of our second year now. Planning to apply for 189 visa in the long run but wanting to get more aus work experience first to add to the points for the visa.

We could be open to that but my partner would prefer to stay in the field he's in to get the experience.

I also see your a fellow yorkshireman! Thanks for any help :D

Beth

Ey up Beth! 😀

Fair enough, it's good that you are here but sponsored sparky roles are thin on the ground at the moment.

Please make sure you have set up job alerts so we can email you if an electrical engineer role is posted.

Also, just making sure that a 3rd year may be available for Working Holiday Visa holders?

All the best
