Just under 2 hours’ drive from Cairns is the village of the Daintree. Daintree is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Douglas, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Daintree had a population of just 129 people!
You will see all types of wildlife in the Daintree River. From special birds such as blue-winged kingfisher to the area’s most infamous inhabitant, the saltwater crocodiles, all in their natural element and from the safety of a boat.
Daintree is not only home of the world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest but is also home to the elusive and endangered Cassowary.
