Daylesford, Victoria – Melbourne day trip

Daylesford, Victoria | Melbourne day trip

Daylesford is a town in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range of Victoria, Australia. It’s known for its natural mineral springs. The leafy Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens sits atop an extinct volcano.

On its grounds, a 19th-century mansion is a home to the Convent Gallery. Daylesford Spa Country Railway winds through farmland and forest. Nearby, Wombat State Forest shelters rare wildlife like the spot-tailed quoll.

In this video, we go for a drive out to Daylesford. Daylesford is located about 116 kilometres north-west of the city of Melbourne.

Daylesford is most commonly known as spa country because it contains the largest concentration of natural mineral spring water in Australia. But we stuck to the free things and cheap things to do in the area.

Yes! Daylesford is a wonderful place, it's quiet most days- except for after 3:18PM when all us school kids walk into town, and sundays- sunday market and extremely busy cafes. Iv'e lived there for five years but been going to school there for nine!
If i had to suggest a place, i'd say go ti Jubilee lake for a picnic or even a swim. And travel down Hepburn too! (And the geese don't attack unless you attack them first xD)
