In this video we are going to be looking at IELTS Part 3 and the TOPIC of BORROWING things.

In Part 3 we never know exactly what the examiner will ask, so these are estimates and are simply meant to be a guide for you, to help you prepare better for the IELTS speaking test.

Useful vocabulary

Borrow Something from Someone

Lend Something to Someone

Examples:
I lent my book to Alan
I lent Alan my book

Give it back = Return it

Things we can borrow from family

Money, phone, school notes, clothes, pen

Things we can Borrow from library / banks

Books, magazines, money, a loan, credit, a mortgage

Borrowed words – have a ‘siesta’ (borrowed from Spanish)

  1. Hello Keith, you are such an amazing instructor. I had my IELTS recently and the topics included my house when I was a kid and how it looked like, how it differs from where I currently live. Gifts and sharing gifts, a long car trip, car style or preference of men and women, and government intervention to solve environmental problems!

Chinese smartphone All companies copy each other's IP all over the world. Shenzhen Baili claim, that the design of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus copied the design of its 100C smartphone 27 parts exactly the same. Apple copied Samsung's technology too. Swiping a phone surface which this technique was invented by a tiny company in Shenzhen China and had copyright before apple. This company eventually won the case to sue apple. Unfortunately Baili company has gone bust. I mean they all infringe each others techniques whether you will win or not it really depend how strong you are.
