We are looking for an experienced Head Chef for our modern KBBQ restaurant, who believes that the purpose of their existence is to transform patrons’ experience.

You will be responsible for the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design to ensure our patrons enjoy this new vision of KBBQ. We have a bit of personality, a bit of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing.

Sponsorship is available for the right candidate with solid experience in KBBQ or JBBQ.

About Us

BaaOinkMoo launches later this year as Western Sydney’s newest Korean BBQ and Bar, based in EdSquare Edmondson Park. BaaOinkMoo “B.O.M” is a new-age Korean BBQ that brings our patron together to feast on good quality meats, set within a neon-lit industrialist restaurant that serves as a great hang out destination.

Do you have

  • Minimum 2 years experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef in a Korean BBQ or Japanese BBQ restaurant
  • Admin experience required: Ordering, Stocktake, Roster/ Performance Management
  • Are able to build a strong team of passionate kitchen crew that are focused on quality and consistency on every plate
  • Knowledge of a variety of cooking styles is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, resourcing, and controlling expenses
  • Strong operational leadership and motivation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The desire to succeed and further your career
  • Has led a team of at least 2 chefs and at multiple locations to support the growth into multiple venue locations.
  • Training staff on standards
  • Strong knowledge of Korean cuisine, Asian cuisine, or similar BBQ style restaurant

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Staff rostering and management
  • Supervise and maintain quality control of food supplies, food preparation and relevant procedures
  • Monitor budgets, profit and loss statements and forecast to ensure effective cost control and profitability
  • Liaise with the Restaurant Manager and report directly to the Owner
  • Back of House Staff recruitment and training
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Responsible for daily kitchen operations
  • HACCAP control & all cleaning procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

  • Head Chef or kitchen manager: 2 years (Required)
