ROTTNEST ISLAND - How to Make the Most of your Day Trip from Perth

Rottnest Island is just off the coast of Perth, Western Australia and home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in the world.

A protected nature reserve, it’s home to the quokka, a small wallaby-like marsupial. White-sand beaches and secluded coves include the Basin, with its shallow waters, and Thomson Bay, the main hub and ferry port.

In this guide, I show you the best days to go, the best way to get around and the best places to stop off. Enjoy!

We hope you enjoyed this video titled ROTTNEST ISLAND – How to Make the Most of your Day Trip from Perth. Though our video guides are designed to provide further awareness into what it might be like to live in the state of Western Australia, we’re hopeful that this video will also help you to choose places to visit (or even call home) when living in Australia.

Quick question: for the snorkeling at salmon bay, are there any shops/station to rent the gears? Or do I have to bring my own googles as snorkeling?

We went a few years back and a quokka came in the restaurant and started drinking wine!

Thanks for the wonderful video. I will be going in early Oct on a weekend. Will the place be crowded then , considering it is still quite cool? I hope it won't be too deserted to cycle alone round the island?

Hi I want to ask, for each stop where do you park your bikes? Is there a lock provided?
